English Apple Season

ImageIt’s English apple season! Check out these whoppers* that I picked up at the market a few days ago … Egremont Russets are very distinctive apples in both appearance and taste and are available from late September until early February. The variety represents about 6% of the total volume of the commercial production of eating apples grown in UK. They have a very distinctive nutty and sweet flavour, with a relatively thick skin and the flesh is crisp, fine-textured and firm. Perfect for my CADA in the mornings for the next few months!

* The apple on the top weighs 355g!!!
